We want to congratulate our own Firefighter/Paramedic John Dowd on a standout showing this week in Birmingham, Alabama, where competed in two Jiu Jitsu events in the World Police and Fire Games!
The World Police & Fire Games (WPFG) are an Olympic-style competition with thousands of athletes who are first responders, hailing from different countries across the world. This event is held every two years and typically includes more than 60 sporting events.
John is bringing home a silver and a bronze medal after representing SWFD, South Walton Professional Fire Fighters Association Local-3516, and Niceville’s own BlackSmith Jiu Jitsu on this stage.
Strong work to this guy! We are so proud of his commitment to his profession and physical fitness, as well as his willingness to take on new challenges to better himself.
