Scott A. Dietz, age 70, of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, passed away peacefully at home October 24, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. He was born September 10, 1955.

Scott lived a life defined by hard work, deep devotion to family, and a love for the simple joys of life—especially fishing and riding his Harley Davidson. Scott dedicated 42 years of his life to the steel industry, where he was known for his strong work ethic and unwavering reliability.

After retiring, he and his beloved wife of 53 years, Connie Dietz, relocated to DeFuniak Springs in 2019 to enjoy their well-earned retirement together. A man of quiet strength and steady faith, Scott was a proud member and trustee of the First Methodist Church of DeFuniak Springs. His presence and service were deeply valued by his church community.

Scott is preceded in death by his parents; one sister; and one brother. He is survived by his loving wife, Connie; his daughter, Marti Schesniak (Roger); and his cherished granddaughter, Ariel Schesniak. He also leaves behind several sisters; one brother; along with many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

A memorial service will be held at First Methodist Church in DeFuniak Springs, Florida, on Friday, November 14, 2025, beginning at 9:30 a.m., to honor and celebrate Scott’s life.

Scott’s legacy lives on in the memories of those who knew him—as a devoted husband, a proud father and grandfather, a loyal friend, and a man who found joy in the open road and the stillness of the water.
