Congratulations to Firefighter/Paramedic Alden Staat, he is the 2025 Firefighter of the 3rd Quarter! Fire Chief Ryan Crawford and C-Shift crew members surprised him with this award presentation and a Chief’s Challenge Coin this week.
In the words of his company officer, Lieutenant/Paramedic Matt Cramer, Alden brings a selfless approach, consistently positive attitude, and strong intestinal fortitude to the job. However, what truly sets Alden apart is the time and effort he spends both on and off-duty to improving the entire Fire District.
He is a standout paramedic with a progressive mindset toward mentoring others and pushing us forward in Emergency Medical Services. Most recently, he spearheaded an effort to implement pet oxygen masks District-wide and hosted on-site emergency animal care classes. He developed relevant policies to make this a reality, which will benefit all firefighters and our taxpayers, in our ability to rescue animals from dangerous environments.
His efforts extend further to include his leadership role with South Walton Professional Fire Fighters Association Local-3516, where he most recently coordinated and managed a Breast Cancer Awareness T-Shirt Fundraiser to benefit the family of our former beloved Customer Service Specialist Pam Streit. Next up, he will assist Local-3516 in its annual Guns and Hoses Charity Softball Tournament happening Saturday, November 15. This event raises funds for numerous local charitable causes, so make sure to check out their page if you want to learn more about the event.
It’s for these reasons and many more we are proud to recognize Firefighter/Paramedic Alden Staat as the Firefighter of the 3rd Quarter. This award is well-deserved and we can’t wait to see what he accomplishes next. Way to go, Staat!
