The Beach Safety Off-Season is here!
Thank you to our South Walton Fire District lifeguards for a phenomenal 2025 season. Here’s what you can expect from our Beach Safety Division until next year:

SWFD lifeguards are patrolling beaches and responding to calls for service in a limited capacity from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m every day starting November 1, 2025 until March 1, 2026.

Lifeguard towers are removed from the beach and our water supervision is reduced compared to the summer. If you enter the Gulf, respect the open water environment and swim to your limits.

The Beach Wheelchair Program also takes a hiatus for the off-season, but please reach out to us if we can be of assistance in any way with making the beach accessible for you and/or your family!

We will post beach flag updates to social media during the off-season as the surf conditions warrant and as part of our commitment to year-round beach safety information and drowning prevention. For daily updates via text message, text SAFETY to 31279.
Thank you to our community for your support in 2025. We experienced incredible growth this past year by adding new towers in areas previously unguarded. This post closes out our 20th Season of Beach Safety operations, and we hope you know how meaningful your support was in making the season a great one.
