HERricane is a FREE week-long girl’s day camp was created by Arlington County Emergency Management to transition young women into community leaders, while demonstrating Emergency Management as a positive force for public safety and local government. Whether they're interested in a public safety career path or preparing for life after high school, HERricane’s curriculum provides something for everyone!
HERricane Florida, Landfall: Walton County program objectives and experiences include disaster preparedness, leadership skills, networking tools, career exploration, professional development, and confidence building exercises. Throughout the week, the girls will be mentored by female leaders from local, state, and national emergency response agencies, as well as private sector organizations. Join us July 29 - August 1, 2025, as we change the face of public safety and empower the next generation of female leaders!
New to this year's program is the camper application! The application window for the 2025 program will be open Monday, April 14, 2025 through Thursday, July 24, 2025.
