Ms. Sandra Olivia Cunningham, age 68, passed away October 25, 2025. She was born on June 23, 1957 in Sylva, North Carolina to Martin Cunningham and Allyce Mills Cunningham.
Ms. Cunningham was a resident of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. She graduated from Appalachian State University where she earned her teaching certificate. After traveling the world, she fell in love with the service industry and found her calling in hospitality; she was the very best waitress anyone could be. Along the way, she met and loved so many wonderful people. She was a devoted wife, mother and adored her family. She always held a special place in her heart for her “Kananimals”. Sandi traveled through life with her husband, of 40 years, Jamie Sanders. She enjoyed spending her time gardening, cooking and piddling around.
Ms. Cunningham was preceded in death by her parents, Martin Cunningham and Allyce Mills Cunningham; her loving husband, James Sanders and her sister, Carol Kirkpatrick.
Ms. Cunningham is survived by her son, James “Marty” Sanders and her daughter, Olivia Allyce Sanders both of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida.
Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
