Mrs. Sheila Kate Clenney, age 77, passed away July 23, 2025. She was born on May 26, 1948 in Walton County, Florida to Belvin and Lalar Idell Adkison Gainey.
Mrs. Clenney was a lifelong resident of DeFuniak Springs, Florida. She was Baptist by faith. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She worked as a supervisor with Showell Farms for over 20 years before retiring. She enjoyed fishing, gardening and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Clenney was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 54 years, Harry Sherman Clenney, one son, Jerry Clenney, one great grandson, Zachariah Nance, sister, Ether Lee Stuart and brother, Leon Gainey.
Mrs. Clenney is survived by her son, John Q. Clenney, Sr. and fiancé Christine Mills of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; her daughter, Chevelle Nance of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, sister, Clarice Rushing; five grandchildren, James Nance and wife Jessica, Josh Clenney, John Clenney and wife Cori, Jonathan Clenney and Josilynn Clenney; twelve great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, July 31, 2025 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435.
