This morning, at approximately 9:22 AM, the City of DeFuniak Springs Fire Department was dispatched to a single-vehicle rollover accident at 736 Bob Sikes Road in DeFuniak Springs. Initial reports indicate that the vehicle left the roadway, collided with a power pole, causing the power lines to fall and block access to the roadway, subsequently overturning, coming to rest on its roof. The DeFuniak Springs Fire Department arrived promptly at the scene and executed necessary extrication procedures to assist those involved in the incident. Their swift response and effective measures played a crucial role in clearing the area and ensuring the safety of all individuals present. Choctawhatchee Electric Cooperative, Inc. emergency utility crews were also dispatched to the scene along with the Office of the City Marshal, DeFuniak Springs Police. Investigators are working to determine the cause of the accident.
