A quiet servant leader.
As a graduate of High Point University in North Carolina with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Sergeant Syverson completed the law enforcement academy at Northwest Florida State College before beginning his journey with the Walton County Sheriff’s Office in 2019.
Throughout his career, Sergeant Syverson has primarily served in patrol, ensuring the safety of Walton County residents and visitors.
In January 2025, he took on the role of Field Training Officer, mentoring new recruits and sharing his knowledge and experience. Additionally, Sergeant Syverson earned specialized certifications in radar and lidar speed measurement.
Sergeant Syverson celebrated this milestone surrounded by his proud mother, Jacquelyn Syverson, his supportive aunt, Trish Kirk, and his uncle, Retired Colonel Kirk.
His promotion to Sergeant is a true reflection of his hard work, leadership, and dedication to the serving Walton County.
