South Walton Fire District recently celebrated the retirement of the longest serving member in the history of their District, Lieutenant/Paramedic Eric Lang!
After the completion of his 30-year career with the agency, Fire District friends, family, and personnel gathered together to share stories of his tenure and reflect on the memories of working alongside him.
One of the best parts of the retirement ceremony was surprising Eric with a large poster of the renderings he created documenting SWFD truck inventory during his probationary year in 1995! You can see in the photos he was overjoyed to see these resurface and they served as a great send-off present for everyone in attendance to sign with their well wishes.
Congratulations, Lt. Lang, on this well-deserved retirement! Thank you as well to the Lang family, who sacrificed along with him, and shared Eric with SWFD for the past 30 years. It’s safe to say there will always be a place for the Langs at SWFD.
