Ann Marie (Spizio) Reenock, age 90, of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2025, at her residence, with family by her side.
Ann Marie is survived by her four daughters, Evelyn Smith (husband, David) of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, Joyce Natale (husband, Vinnie) of Enfield, Connecticut, Phyllis Reynolds (husband, Earl) of Spring Hill, Florida, and Judith Aftanski (husband, Scott) of Somers, Connecticut; sister, Regina Mosca (husband, Angelo) of Beverly, Massachusetts; half sisters, Susan Green (husband, Ron) of Milbridge, Maine, Jane Bakke (husband, John) of Portland, Oregon, and Joanne Spizio of Eastbrook, Maine; four grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and three great, great grandchildren; as well as many other family, neighbors, friends, and least we forget, the two cats, Joey and Missy. She was predeceased by a half sister, Nancy Spizio of Swan’s Island, Maine.
Ann Marie was born in Waltham, Massachusetts to Ernest Spizio of Belmont, Massachusetts, and Helen M. DeAngelo of Italy. She married MSgt. Ronald Donnell Reenock on June 30, 1973.
They spent the first eight years of their marriage on tour with the Air Force in Germany. They retired in Phoenix, Arizona until Ron’s death in November of 2021. Ann moved to DeFuniak Springs in April of 2022, and settled in the Ten Lakes Estates subdivision.
Ann played the trumpet and piano, and enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, and oil and acrylic painting. She was an animal lover; always had either two dogs or two cats as part of her family.
A memorial service will be held June 21, 2025 in the chapel of Davis-Watkins Funeral Home and Crematory, 1474 State Highway 83 North, DeFuniak Springs, Florida from 3:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. At 4:30 p.m. Pastor Peg DeAlminana of the Resurrection Fellowship United Methodist Church will address a short story on Ann’s life. Guests are invited to speak as well.
Guests are invited to a prepaid Chinese dinner buffet at the Plateful Buffet, 66 US Highway 90E, after 5:00 p.m. The back room has been reserved under Evelyn Smith.
Ann’s ashes will be buried in Somers, Connecticut, in late July.
