Mrs. Carlene K. Smith, age 89, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2025. She was born August 19, 1935 in Eagle Lake, Florida to Robert Kitchens and Mattie Mills Kitchens.
Mrs. Smith was Baptist by faith and a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. She previously worked as a florist in her early years. She enjoyed scrapbooking, teaching her Sunday School class, and helping her husband pastor churches through the years. She dearly enjoyed spending time with her family.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Brenda LaMonte, granddaughter, Danielle Bright; four sisters; Sharon Kitchens, Lela Thackrey, Doris Siler, and Annette Breibhtenbach; her brother Richard Kitchens; and her husband of 60 years, Pastor Owen D. Smith.
Mrs. Smith is survived by three daughters; Connie Caceres and husband Clyde of Oakland, Illinois, Barbara Tuttle and husband Tom of Port St. Lucie, Florida and Trish Bright and husband Doug of Illinois; two brothers, Robert Kitchens, Cecil Kitchens and wife Mary all of Winter Haven, Florida; one sister, Betty Scott of Panama City, Florida ten grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
A time of visitation will be held from 12:00 -1:00 PM, Thursday, May 22, 2025 at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church; 1015 Pleasant Ridge Rd, DeFuniak Springs, FL 32435.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, May 22, 2025 at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church with Reverend Mahlon LeCroix officiating.
Flowers are being accepted.
Burial will be held at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.
