Donald James O’Donnel, 82, of Miramar Beach, Florida, passed away May 14, 2025 after a decade-long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was born in Dayton, Ohio on November 11, 1942, to Darrell and Thelma O’Donnel. Don was a beloved husband, father, and “Papa Don” to nine grandkids, and friend; known for his humor and outgoing personality.

Don was a commercial printer for forty years, working at McCalls in Dayton and Modern Graphic Arts in St. Petersburg, Florida. After retiring, he traveled extensively with his wife.

Don was married to his loving wife, Kenann Cassidy, for eighteen years. They enjoyed traveling together and spending time with their children and grandchildren. He was a classic car enthusiast, enjoyed NASCAR and Florida State Football.

Don is survived by his wife, Kenann; her children, Kendel (Jay) Hanson, Jarret Dring, and Lindsay (Austin) Brooks; their grandchildren, Hunter Hanson, Gabe Hanson, Brody Hanson, Sloane Dring, Hughes Dring, Harris Dring, Kennedy Brooks, Turner Brooks and Emmett Brooks; his children, Chad O’Donnel and Audra Liswith; and his sisters, Lynn Reeves and Sandra (Ron) DiOrio.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Derrell and Thelma O’Donnel.

A memorial service will be held at 8833 St. Andrews Dr. on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association to honor Don.
