Tuesday evening, Walton County Sheriff’s Office, Walton County Fire Rescue, Florida, Argyle Volunteer Fire Department, and City of DeFuniak Springs Fire Department responded to a dump truck on fire on a property off of Sherwood Road in DeFuniak Springs.
When firefighters and deputies arrived, they quickly found that the dump truck had struck a power line while dumping landscaping debris on the property. The driver of the dump truck died at the scene.
Power is out in the area. Choctawhatchee Electric Cooperative, Inc. has responded, as well as the Florida Highway Patrol.
