Freda Marie Cooey Anderson departed this life on May 12, 2025, at the age of 54. A beloved mother, sister, and friend, Freda leaves behind cherished memories and a legacy of love, kindness, and strength which will echo in the hearts of those she touched.

Born of December 16, 1970, in Panama City, Florida to Kenneth Cooey and Judy Sowell Cooey, Freda was a bright light in the lives of everyone who knew her. She was known for her warm heart, quick wit, infectious laughter, and unwavering love for her family and friends. Freda had a special way of making everyone feel seen and valued, and her presence brought comfort and joy to those around her.

Freda’s adventurous spirit was complemented by her love of the mountains. Whether browsing the quaint shops, spending time with family, or simply enjoying the majestic views of the Great Smokey Mountains, she found peace and solace. She often reminisced about her childhood memories, which were filled with family trips to the mountains where she, Prissy, and their cousins would spend time playing games, sightseeing and looking for moccasins (Indian shoes not snakes) and attending the local dinner shows.

In addition to her passion for family and nature, Freda was an avid wrestling fan. She loved the excitement and drama of the sport, often attending matches with Prissy and some of their close friends. Her enthusiasm for wrestling brought laughter and camaraderie to her outings, creating lasting memories.

Freda is survived by her husband, Michael; daughter, Cheyenne; mother, Judy Cooey; sister, Priscilla Cooey, all of Freeport, Florida, as well as numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends whom loved her dearly.

Freda Marie Cooey Anderson lived her life with passion, joy, and an unwavering commitment to her loved ones. Her legacy of love and laughter will continue to inspire all who knew her.

“So with you now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and rejoice, and no one will take away your joy”, John 16:22.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, May 17, 2025 at West Bay Holiness Community Church, 8038 County Road 388, Panama City Beach, Florida, beginning at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Wesley Hall, Jr. officiating. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior. Committal will follow at Westville Cemetery.
