The American Council of Engineering Companies of Florida (ACEC Florida) recently honored eight Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) infrastructure developments with Outstanding Project Awards for transportation achievements.
Award winners were announced and honored during the ACEC Florida Transportation Conference held last week in Orlando, FL.
Included in the awarded projects was the Inlet Beach Pedestrian Crossing, located at State Road 30 and US 98 @ County Road 30A. Design consultant for the project was Volkert, Inc. The CEI Consultant was Halff Associates, Inc.
“These award-winning projects represent real solutions that enhance safety, strengthen connectivity, and improve the quality of life for Florida’s communities,” said FDOT Secretary Jared W. Perdue, P.E. “Every one of these projects show what is possible when dedicated teams across FDOT and Florida’s engineering firms collaborate and align behind the same mission.”
“Congratulations to Florida engineering firms and Florida Department of Transportation Districts for their outstanding achievement in the design and construction of Florida roads, bridges, intersections, expressways and highways,” said Allen Douglas, Executive Director, American Council of Engineering Companies of Florida. “Your innovation in transportation excellence will help ensure residents and visitors can safely travel to their destination.”
Thirty-nine nominations were received from all across Florida.
