Lura Spears Zerick, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully May 28, 2025, at the age of 94. She is now in the presence of her Lord and Savior. Born December 1, 1930, Lura was proud of her roots and heritage in Westville, Florida and Geneva, Alabama, and she invested her heart and creative spirit into her community. A true storyteller, Lura loved lifting others’ spirits through her writing and music. When she was not reading scripture or a noval, Lura could be found gardening, cooking, or enjoying God’s beauty in nature. Lura touched the lives of many through her enduring strength, compassion, and unwavering spirit. She was known for her warm smile and wilingness to share the love of Jesus with those around her.
She is predeceased by her daughter, Lisa Zerick.
Lura is survived by her loving family, her sons, Fred Zerick and wife Jacquelyn, and Jon Zerick; her daughters, Joy Bush, and Toni Zerick; along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews who will carry her memory and legacy forward with love and gratitude.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 28, 2025 at Beulah Anna Baptist Church, 1334 Coursey Road, Westville, Florida 32464, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
