On Friday, June 20th, deputies responded to a physical disturbance at McDonald’s in Miramar Beach.
It was reported a suspect got into a physical altercation with a juvenile and pulled a handgun, threatening to kill him.
As deputies arrived, the suspect fled on foot but was located shortly after. It was found later that the suspect, identified as Kevonta Demouchet, 26, of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana, hid the handgun while running from the scene. Demouchet led deputies back to the location of the gun, which was reported stolen from a burglary in Louisiana.
Demouchet was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill, child abuse without great bodily harm, tampering with evidence, grand theft of a firearm, improper exhibition of a firearm, obstruction without violence, and use of a firearm while under the influence of alcohol.\
He was transported to the Walton County Jail and was released on a $10,000 bond on Sunday, June 22nd.
