Martha Ann Tucker Pope passed away on June 7, 2025 in DeFuniak Springs, Florida at the age of 96. She was born January 24, 1929 in Elba, Alabama to parents John Lawson Tucker and Connie Pearl Seymore and spent many years growing up in Paxton. Martha married Glenn Pope in February 1947, when they were 18 years old and they were blessed with 67 years of marriage until his passing in 2014. She was Church of Christ by faith.

Nothing in her life was more important to Martha than family. She treasured time spent together and loved doing things like fishing with her husband, Glenn, crocheting, sewing, and tending to her flowers. Her nickname, “Priss,” was most fitting as she never went anywhere without her hair done and her make up on. Matching her favorite flower, the pink rose, her signature look included pink fingernails and pink lipstick.

Martha is survived by her children Glenn A. Pope, Jr, Tyler Pope, and Caitlain Pope, grandchildren Erick Pope, Joshua Pope, Rebecca Criss, and Ashley Pope, great-grandchildren Jaxson Pope, Ashten Pope, Aaron Pope, Emersyn Pope, Grace Hargrove, Abel Hargrove, Lane DeArmond, and Nora Pope, and sister Patsy Parker.

She is preceded in death by her husband Glenn A. Pope, Sr, daughter, Glenda Diane Pope, father John L. Tucker, mother Connie P. Seymore, and siblings Darwin Tucker, Johnnie Tucker, William Tucker, and Lorene Tucker.

Martha was incredibly kind and always the peacemaker. People valued her presence, and she will be so greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
