Michael Whalen has been appointed Resort Operations Director at Seascape Resorts, Inc. He has served as the Director of Sales & Events and will continue to lead that division. In this newly expanded leadership role, he will now oversee all aspects of resort operations, including rental management, maintenance, housekeeping, group sales, events, business development, and owner relations. Additionally, Michael will play a key role in the continued growth of The Grove and other upcoming residential and commercial developments at Seascape Golf, Beach & Tennis Resort. He will also maintain his position as a Class B Director on the Seascape Master Homeowners Association Board.
Michael brings over 40 years of hospitality experience, including a combined 12 years at Seascape. He originally joined us in 2008 as Rental Manager, was promoted to Director of Group Sales & Events in 2010, and held that role until 2014. After relocating to California for family reasons, he continued his career in leadership roles with Marriott and IHG-branded hotels before returning to Seascape in 2020.
Since his return, Michael has made a lasting impact, most notably by spearheading our partnership with Topeka, which introduced music vacation experiences to Seascape. These events have quickly become a signature part of our resort, with over 15 successful music vacations held to date—and 6 more already planned for 2025. This year alone, we anticipate welcoming over 45,000 attendees through these events.
In addition to his professional achievements, Michael actively contributes to the local community. He serves on the Visit Walton Marketing and Communications Committee and is a dedicated advocate for both Seascape and the greater Miramar Beach area.
