Walton County Sheriff’s Office was called early this morning to the Eastern Lake access to search for a missing 21-year-old out of Georgia. At approximately 3am, friends reported that William Cheeley entered the water and did not resurface.
The Coast Guard and the Walton County Sheriff’s Office used their vessels to search the water and the Fish and Wildlife Commission also provided air and water assets.
Fortunately, Cheeley was located this morning at a nearby residence.
