Today, Chief Ross Sheffield, Mayor Bob Campbell, and local lifelong resident Greg Chrishon were on site to admire the new historical street signs being installed throughout the East Side of the city. These distinctive street signs, designed to honor DeFuniak Springs’ rich heritage, are replacing the traditional green ones.
The latest installations are located at the intersections of Dorsey Avenue & Davis Street, Park Street & Anthony Johnson Trail, and Florence Street & Anthony Johnson Trl. The project is being led by the City’s Transportation Department, with team members Isaiah Williams and Jerry Stooks overseeing the installation.
Mayor Bob Campbell said, “These new historical street signs are not just markers; they are a celebration of our city’s heritage and a way to connect future generations to our rich history. We take great pride in preserving the character of DeFuniak Springs.”
These upgrades are part of the City’s ongoing commitment to enhancing community character and preserving local history.
