Walton County Fire Rescue and Walton County Sheriff’s Office, Florida deputies are on scene at Stow-Away Storage, located on Business 331 in Freeport, where multiple storage units caught fire. Walton County Fire Rescue crews were able to quicklg extinguish the blaze that caused damaged to at least seven storage units. Firefighters remain on scene conducting overhaul operations.
During the response to the fire, the Walton County Sheriff’s Office arrested one individual for being combative when asked by deputies to get safely away from the scene. It is believed the individual was living in the unit that originally caught fire.
The State Fire Marshal has been contacted and will be responding to investigate the cause of the fire.
