Walton County Fire Rescue is proud to officially welcome Chief Jeremy Slaughter as the new Division Chief of Training. Chief Slaughter steps into this role with nearly 19 years of dedicated fire service experience, beginning his career as a new recruit with the Cripple Creek Fire Department in Colorado.
Over the years, Chief Slaughter has built an impressive resume, rising through the ranks at Red, White & Blue Fire in Breckenridge, Colorado, where he served as Training and Safety Captain. His leadership also extended to roles such as Chair of the Health and Wellness Committee, Peer Support Specialist, and Policy Review Committee Member. In 2023, he completed the prestigious National Fire Academy’s Managing Officer Program.
Chief Slaughter is passionate about training, mentorship, and helping firefighters grow in their careers. His commitment to safety, education, and wellness will be a tremendous asset to Walton County Fire Rescue as they continue to shape the future of the department.
